About this plant

The most familiar seasonal flower in Punjab — cheerful orange and yellow blooms at an accessible price. Sold as seedlings in the cool-season window.

What you receive

Seasonal seedlings in nursery bags, roughly 15–30 cm tall, sold in season only. Photos show plants in full bloom; you receive young seedlings that flower on from planting. The exact species and colour depend on the current sowing.

Suitability for the Faisalabad region

In the Faisalabad calendar, marigold is a cool-season flower: plant from autumn for colour through winter and early spring. It cannot take the extreme summer heat, so we only list it when the season is right. Give it full sun in beds or pots; it also copes well with the region's dust.

Best planting window: October–December

Care

Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry — winter plantings need much less water than people expect. Pinch young plants once to make them bushy, and remove spent flower heads regularly to keep new blooms coming. A light balanced feed every few weeks is enough. Treat it as a seasonal annual: it is replaced each year, not kept.
